T-Shirt Be Brave. "Irpin"
Anastasiia Tykha evacuated 20 pets from Irpin when Russian forces were heavily shelling the city and killing civilians. Before Russia’s invasion she gave shelter to stray dogs, treated their health problems, trained them and found them new owners. Many of them were abandoned by humans after car accidents or became disabled because of people’s cruelty. When Russian forces were shelling Irpin and killing civilians, Anastasiia and her husband evacuated 15 dogs, 5 cats, a chameleon, a turtle, a humster and a spider. “Pets are like children. And you never abandon children”, she said. Now they are sending pets abroad to a safer place while living in Kyiv.
The Wall Street Journal’s photographer Christopher Occhicone took a picture of Anastasiia that became popular, and Ukrainian artist Natasha Le created an art based on it.
